After attending Bilton Grange School and Milton Abbey School, he trained in acting at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, graduating in 2001. Evans has had an extensive career across stage and screen. His early career included roles in British television and a season with the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company, where his performance in King John earned him an Ian Charleson Award nomination. His first major film role was as FBI agent John Myers in Guillermo del Toro's 2004 superhero film, Hellboy. He went on to star in films such as Agora (2009), The Boy (2016), and American Pastoral (2016). Evans is perhaps best known to television audiences for his lead roles in American series, notably playing the resistance fighter Frank Frink in the Amazon Prime Video series The Man in the High Castle (2015–2018) and the Whitelighter Harry Greenwood in The CW's reboot of Charmed (2018–2022).
