Ryoma Takeuchi
Ryoma Takeuchi (born April 26, 1993) is a celebrated Japanese actor, model, and television personality, originally gaining fame as a child through his aspirations in professional soccer before a breakthrough role in the Kamen Rider Drive series (2014). Standing 185 cm tall, he transitioned from modeling for the magazine mina to becoming one of Japan's most versatile leading men, earning a Japan Academy Film Prize for his work in Teiichi: Battle of Supreme High (2017) and starring in major hits like Roppongi Class and Ship of Theseus. In 2024, he achieved significant global recognition by taking on the iconic role of Kazuma Kiryu in the Amazon Prime Video series Like a Dragon: Yakuza, a role for which he was praised for bringing a raw, emotionally vulnerable humanity to the legendary video game protagonist. In the 2025 Netflix live-action film 10DANCE, Takeuchi stars as Shinya Suzuki, the fiery and impulsive "King of Latin Dance." His performance has been lauded by critics for its "peacock acting"—a term used to describe his commanding, charismatic physical presence and "bad-boy aura," complete with a distinctive dirty-blonde look. Despite having no prior dance experience, Takeuchi underwent rigorous training to master the complex Latin movements, with his athletic background in soccer providing the core strength and coordination needed to make his "raw eroticism" on the dance floor feel authentic. His chemistry with co-star Keita Machida is the driving force of the film, as his character’s instinctive, rhythmic chaos clashes with and eventually complements the rigid discipline of his rival.
