Saffron Hocking
Saffron Olivia Hocking is a British actress, born on January 5, 1994, in Greenwich, Greater London. She is a graduate of the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) and began her professional career in 2014, including a role in Richard Bean's play Pitcairn at Shakespeare's Globe. Hocking's profile rose significantly with her role as Lauryn Lawrence in the Netflix crime drama series Top Boy (2019–2023), a performance which earned her a nomination for the British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress. For her character's difficult domestic abuse storyline, Hocking consulted with the charity Refuge to ensure an authentic portrayal, and she now serves as an ambassador for the organization. Her other television credits include a recurring role as Emma Lyndsey in the BBC Two sitcom White Gold (2017), as Sasha Bailey in the Prime Video drama Riches (2022), and as Sam Boyd in the second season of the Amazon Prime thriller The Devil's Hour (2024). Hocking has also been cast in upcoming feature films, including Nia DaCosta's Hedda and the action-thriller Fuze. Dedicated to her craft, she values taking on meaningful roles that educate and inspire, and she is also known for her work in music videos, such as Stormzy's "Hide & Seek."
