Sam Hazeldine
Samuel Hazeldine is an accomplished English actor born on March 29, 1972, in Hammersmith, London. He is the son of the late stage and screen actor James Hazeldine and Rebecca Moore. Growing up in a creative environment, Hazeldine spent a portion of his childhood in Stratford-upon-Avon, where he frequently observed his father in rehearsals with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) alongside future stars like Andrew Lincoln and Stephen Mangan, but he left the academy in 1993 to pursue a professional career in music as the lead singer of the rock band Mover. After roughly a decade in the music industry, Hazeldine returned to acting in 2003, making his television debut as D.C. David Butcher in the acclaimed series Prime Suspect 6: The Last Witness. His career quickly expanded into feature films, with early roles in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004) and The Raven (2012), where he played Ivan Reynolds opposite John Cusack. He became a familiar face in major television productions, portraying Georgie Sewell in Peaky Blinders, Caleb Richards in the American fantasy series Resurrection, and John McDaniel in The Innocents. In 2014, he appeared as Colonel Langton in the George Clooney-directed film The Monuments Men, further establishing his presence in Hollywood. Hazeldine's versatility extends to prestigious theater productions and voice work. He has performed at the National Theatre in Coriolanus and took on the role of Horatio in an English Touring Theatre production of Hamlet. His voice-acting credits include the video game Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, where he voiced Barty Crouch Jr. Recently, he gained significant attention for taking over the role of Adar from Joseph Mawle in the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2024). His filmography also includes high-profile projects like Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel (2021) and the action thriller Mechanic: Resurrection (2016).
