
Sam Zuchero
Sam Zuchero is an American filmmaker and one half of the creative duo Sam & Andy Zuchero, based in Topanga, California. Together with her husband Andy, Sam has been making art since their teenage years. Their debut feature film, Love Me (2024), premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the prestigious Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize, awarded to films that explore themes of science or technology . Love Me is a post-apocalyptic romance set billions of years after humanity's extinction. The film follows a buoy and a satellite who meet online and explore what it means to be alive and in love. The Zucheros utilized a blend of live-action, practical animatronics, classic animation, and game engines to create a visually inventive narrative . Prior to Love Me, Andy Zuchero directed the short film The Apocalypse, which won Best Midnight Short at SXSW. He has also received a Cannes Lion for his commercial work. Sam Zuchero has an extensive background in theater and has acted in several independent films that premiered at Sundance. The Zucheros' work is characterized by their unique storytelling approach and their ability to blend philosophical themes with innovative filmmaking techniques.
