Sandra Vaughn is a South African actress, writer, and producer, renowned for her diverse roles in television, film, and theatre. Born on October 28, 1974, in Pretoria, she earned a BA in Drama (Cum Laude) from the University of Pretoria in 1995. Her career began in 1996 with the PACT production Hoe Later Hoe Kwater, followed by numerous theatrical performances, radio appearances, singing engagements, and TV commercials. Vaughn gained national recognition for her portrayal of Debbie Meyer in the long-running Afrikaans soap opera 7de Laan, a role she played from 2005 to 2016. She also appeared in Isidingo (2005), Zero Tolerance 3 (2006), and Getroud Met Rugby (2009). Beyond acting, she has written for shows such as 25 Degrees South, Casper Rasper Show, Haak en Steek, Life is Wild, and Getroud Met Rugby. In 2012, Vaughn co-wrote the screenplay for Semi-Soet, a romantic comedy that became the first Afrikaans rom-com in decades. The film was a commercial success, grossing R12 million, and earned her a nomination for Best Achievement in Scriptwriting at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). Vaughn is married to fellow actor Pierre van Pletzen, with whom she has two children.
