Sarah Shahi, born Aahoo Jahansouzshahi on January 10, 1980, in Euless, Texas, is an American actress known for her dynamic performances in both television and film. Of Iranian and Spanish descent, Shahi began her career in entertainment as a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in the late 1990s. A serendipitous meeting with director Robert Altman on the set of "Dr. T & the Women" encouraged her to pursue acting in Hollywood. She quickly gained recurring roles in popular TV series such as "Alias" and "Dawson's Creek" before achieving wider recognition as Carmen de la Pica Morales in Showtime's "The L Word" (2005-2009). Shahi has consistently showcased her versatility in various leading roles, including Detective Dani Reese in "Life" (2007-2009), legal mediator Kate Reed in "Fairly Legal" (2011-2012), and the formidable Sameen Shaw in the critically acclaimed CBS crime drama "Person of Interest" (2012-2016).
