Rangaraj Subbiah, better known by his stage name Sathyaraj, is a veteran Indian actor, producer, and director who has predominantly worked in the Tamil film industry. Born on October 3, 1954, in Coimbatore, he initially pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany before following his passion for acting. He began his career in the late 1970s, establishing himself with a number of villainous and supporting roles in films alongside prominent actors like Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.Sathyaraj's career took a significant turn in the mid-1980s when he began to take on lead roles, showcasing his versatility in action, comedy, and romantic genres. His performance in Vedham Pudhithu (1987) earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Actor, and he received widespread acclaim for his dual role in the political satire Amaidhi Padai (1994), which is considered one of his finest performances.In recent years, Sathyaraj has become a popular and critically praised character and supporting actor, known for his ability to portray a wide range of roles.
