Scott MacArthur (born August 6, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor and writer who rose to prominence with his dual role as a series writer and the lovable slacker Jimmy Shepherd on Fox's comedy The Mick (2017–2018) . A veteran of Chicago’s famed improv scene—having trained at The Second City and Improv Olympic—he later refined his stage skills at Harvard’s A.R.T./MXAT in New York. Beyond The Mick, MacArthur is recognized for his supporting roles in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (as Neil Kandy), The Righteous Gemstones (as Scotty “the Devil”), Halloween Kills (as Big John), and No Hard Feelings (as Jim). He continues to showcase his range with recent and upcoming parts, including the Netflix drama Running Point (2025) and Amazon’s Spider‑Noir series .
