Şebnem Sönmez (born Tevhide Şebnem Sönmez on June 5, 1968, in Istanbul) is a distinguished Turkish actress renowned for her work in theater, television, and film. She embarked on her acting journey during her high school years with the Pendik Youth Theatre and later honed her craft at the Istanbul State Conservatory, graduating in 1991. Her early career included performances with various theater groups such as Kartal Art Theatre and Taner Barlas Mim Theatre. She also contributed to Dormen Theatre and the Beşiktaş Cultural Center, enriching her theatrical experience. Sönmez's television debut occurred in 1993 with the series Yaz Evi. She gained widespread recognition for her roles in the popular TV series Yedi Numara (2000–2003) and Elveda Rumeli (2007–2009). Her filmography includes notable films such as Vizontele (2000), Abdülhamit Düşerken (2002), Döngel Karhanesi (2005), and Bergen (2022), where she portrayed the character Suna.
