Grahame-Smith's early life saw him grow up in Weston and Bethel, Connecticut, and attend Emerson College, where he earned a degree in film. Beyond his bestselling novels, his extensive career in film and television includes writing screenplays for movies like Tim Burton's Dark Shadows (2012) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017), and serving as a producer for films such as It (2017) and It: Chapter Two (2019). He also co-created, wrote, and executive produced the MTV comedy series The Hard Times of RJ Berger.
