Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Shabeer began his career as a theatre artiste, a background that credits him with the versatility and depth he brings to his on-screen roles. He had an uncredited appearance in Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004) before making his full-fledged feature film debut as a lead in Lakshmy Ramakrishnan's Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe (2014). Shabeer's career gained significant momentum after he was cast in supporting roles in high-profile films like Karthik Subbaraj's Petta (2019). However, his breakthrough performance came in Pa. Ranjith's period sports drama Sarpatta Parambarai (2021), where his portrayal of the stylish and mercurial boxer "Dancing" Rose earned him widespread critical acclaim and immense popularity, making "Dancing Rose" his recognizable moniker. He has since been cast in major projects across South Indian cinema, including the Malayalam film King of Kotha (2023) and the Telugu film Naa Saami Ranga (2024), often playing powerful antagonist roles.
