Shawnee Smith is an American actress, singer, and musician, best known for her role as Amanda Young in the Saw horror film franchise. Born on July 3, 1969, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, she began her acting career at age 8 with a McDonald's commercial and made her film debut in the 1982 adaptation of Annie. Her breakout role came in 1988 with the cult classic The Blob, and she later starred in the 1990s sitcom Becker, portraying Linda for six seasons. Smith's versatility extends to music; she was the lead vocalist for the punk band Fydolla Ho and later formed the country-rock duo Smith & Pyle with actress Missi Pyle, releasing the album It's OK to Be Happy in 2008. In 2023, she reprised her role as Amanda Young in Saw X, continuing her legacy in the horror genre.
