Sheetal Sheth is an accomplished American actress, author, producer, and activist of Indian heritage. Born in the United States, she is a graduate of the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and began her groundbreaking career in the late 1990s, notably starring in the controversial 1999 film ABCD. Sheth has starred in over 20 feature films, including critically acclaimed independent films such as The World Unseen and I Can't Think Straight, both directed by Shamim Sarif, for which she earned multiple Best Actress awards. She is also recognized for her role opposite Albert Brooks in Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World. Beyond her work in cinema, Sheth is a published author, best known for the USA Today-bestselling Anjali picture book series, which is the first to feature an Indian American girl as the hero. As an activist and cancer survivor, she uses her platform to advocate for marginalized communities, serving on boards like SAYA and Equality Now, and contributing op-eds to various publications. She is married to Neil Mody.
