Shine Tom Chacko is an Indian actor and former assistant director, born on September 15, 1983, in Thrissur, Kerala, to C.P. Chacko and Maria Carmel. He completed a B.Com degree from St. Thomas College, Thrissur. His film career began in the early 2000s, working as an assistant director under filmmaker Kamal for about nine years. During this period, he had a minor on-screen appearance in Kamal's 2002 film Nammal. He transitioned to acting with a supporting role in Kamal's 2011 film Gaddama. After playing supporting and minor roles in films such as Ee Adutha Kaalathu and Annayum Rasoolum, he achieved his breakthrough with the lead role in the 2014 fantasy-comedy film Ithihasa, which dealt with body-swapping and was one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films that year. He later gained significant critical acclaim for his strong negative roles in films like Kammatipaadam (2016) and Ishq (2019), with the latter earning him a South Indian International Movie Award (SIIMA) for Best Actor in a Negative Role. Shine Tom Chacko has expanded his work beyond Malayalam cinema, making his Tamil debut in Beast (2022) and his Telugu debut in Dasara (2023). In his personal life, he married Thabeetha Mathew in 2013 and they have a son, Ciel Chacko, though they are currently separated. His career has faced controversies, including a 2015 arrest in Kochi for alleged drug possession, for which he was later released on bail.
