Sidharth Malhotra is a prominent Indian actor who works in Hindi films. Born on January 16, 1985, in Delhi, he began his career in the entertainment industry as a model at the age of 18. Dissatisfied with the profession, he transitioned to filmmaking, working as an assistant director to Karan Johar on the 2010 film My Name Is Khan.He made his acting debut in Johar's 2012 film, the teen drama Student of the Year, alongside Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. The film was a commercial success and earned him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Male Debut. Malhotra went on to establish himself in the industry with roles in successful films like the romantic comedy Hasee Toh Phasee (2014) and the romantic-thriller Ek Villain (2014), which was a major commercial hit. He also received critical acclaim for his performance in the family drama Kapoor & Sons (2016).After a period of career setbacks and a string of films that underperformed at the box office, Sidharth Malhotra's career was revitalized with the biographical war film Shershaah (2021). His portrayal of Captain Vikram Batra earned him widespread critical acclaim and his first Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actor.
