Simone Montedoro
Simone Montedoro (born July 28, 1973, in Rome) is an Italian actor renowned for his roles in television and theater. He began his career in the entertainment industry through photo novels and later trained in acting under Francesca De Sapio, Michael Margotta, and Duccio Camerini. Montedoro made his theatrical debut in the 1998–99 season with productions such as No Exit and A chi toccherà stasera, directed by Massimiliano D'Epiro. In the early 2000s, he transitioned to television, appearing in various series including Il centravanti è stato assassinato verso sera (1999), L'avvocato Porta – Le nuove storie (2000), and Il commissario Montalbano – L'odore della notte (2002). His breakthrough role came in 2008 when he was cast as Captain Giulio Tommasi in the long-running Italian series Don Matteo, succeeding Flavio Insinna in the role. Montedoro portrayed Tommasi from seasons 6 to 10 and made a guest appearance in season 12 . Beyond acting, Montedoro has participated in various Italian television programs, including the talent show Ballando con le stelle in 2017, where he finished fourth. He also competed in Il cantante mascherato in 2021, wearing the "teddy bear" mask, and in Tale e quale show the same year . In 2023, Montedoro returned to the big screen with the comedy Mamma qui comando io, directed by Federico Moccia . On a personal note, Montedoro was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2004, a rare and aggressive cancer affecting the lymphatic system. After undergoing treatment and overcoming the illness, he resumed his acting career . He has been in a relationship with makeup artist Roberta Volpicella since 2021, and the couple welcomed a daughter, Vittoria, in December 2022 .
