
Smita Tambe
Smita Tambe (born May 11, 1983, in Satara, Maharashtra) is a celebrated Indian actress, producer, and theatre artist known for her powerful roles across Marathi and Hindi cinema and television. Raised in Pune before moving to Mumbai, she holds a PhD in Marathi Loksahitya and society—a testament to her deep cultural engagement . She broke through with the Maharashtra State Award‑winning lead in 72 Miles – Ek Pravas (2013) and has since delivered compelling performances in films like Jogwa (2009), Deool (2011), Candle March (2014), Partu (2015), the Hindi hit Singham Returns, Netflix’s Sacred Games (Season 2), Panga, Jawan, and 2024’s Sister Midnight, where she shines as Reshma. In 2019, she ventured into production with her company Ringing Rain, launching the thriller Saavat, in which she also starred as a CBI officer . Her recent work in Joram earned critical acclaim and the 2023 FOI Online Critics’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress, along with a nomination at India’s Critics’ Choice Awards .
