Son Hyun-joo (born June 24, 1965) is a highly respected and prolific South Korean actor, celebrated for his powerful and versatile performances in both television and film since his debut in 1991. He graduated from Chung-Ang University with a degree in Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film, which laid the foundation for his diverse career. While initially known for his solid work in various supporting roles, Son Hyun-joo achieved widespread critical acclaim and popular recognition for his leading roles in two unexpected hits: the revenge drama "The Chaser" (2012), for which he won numerous Best Actor awards including the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the SBS Drama Awards and the Baeksang Arts Award for Best Leading Actor, and the mystery thriller film "Hide and Seek" (2013). His filmography includes other notable movies such as "Secretly, Greatly" (2013), "The Chronicles of Evil" (2015), and "Ordinary Person" (2017), for which he won Best Actor at the 39th Moscow International Film Festival. On television, he has starred in popular dramas like "My Rosy Life" (2005), "My Too Perfect Sons" (2009), "Empire of Gold" (2013), "Three Days" (2014), "Criminal Minds" (2017), and the highly successful "The Good Detective" series (2020-2022).
