Song Xiaobao
Song Xiaobao, born Song Baoli on January 5, 1981, is a prominent Chinese comedian, actor, and television personality. Hailing from Huinan County in Jilin, China, he is a well-known performer of Errenzhuan, a traditional folk art form from Northeast China. His career took off after he became the 32nd apprentice of the esteemed Chinese artist and comedian Zhao Benshan, with whom he has worked extensively throughout his career.He gained national recognition in 2011 after performing in the sketch comedy show Liaoning Spring Festival TV Gala with Zhao Benshan. He has since become a popular face on Chinese television, known for his unique comedic style and on-screen presence. Song has participated in numerous variety and reality shows, including Happy Comedians and Keep Running, which further increased his public profile. Beyond comedy, he has also had success as a dramatic actor, winning a Huading Award in 2014 for his lead role in the television drama series Cherry. In addition to his acting and comedy work, Song Xiaobao has also ventured into directing and writing, and continues to be a fixture in the Chinese entertainment industry with appearances in films and television series, including the recent 2025 films The Lychee Road and Hot Pot Artist.
