Choi Soo-young, known mononymously as Sooyoung, is a highly successful South Korean singer, actress, and songwriter. Born on February 10, 1990, in Gwangju, South Korea, she first entered the entertainment industry in 2002 as a member of the short-lived Korean-Japanese singing duo Route 0. Her career truly took off in 2007 when she debuted as a member of the immensely popular K-pop girl group Girls' Generation, which became one of South Korea's best-selling and most widely known girl groups worldwide.Beyond her musical career, Sooyoung has established herself as a respected actress, taking on diverse roles in both television dramas and films.
