Soubin Shahir
Soubin Shahir is an Indian actor, director, and producer who primarily works in Malayalam cinema. Born on October 12, 1983, in Kochi, Kerala, he began his film journey behind the scenes, following in the footsteps of his father, Babu Shahir, who was an assistant director and production controller. Soubin started his career as an assistant director in 2003 and worked with renowned directors like Fazil, Siddique, and Amal Neerad before transitioning to acting.He made his acting debut with a small role in Annayum Rasoolum (2013), but his breakthrough came with the 2015 blockbuster Premam, where his role as a quirky PT teacher, "Shivan Sir," won him widespread popularity. He further showcased his versatility with critically acclaimed performances in films such as Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), and Kumbalangi Nights (2019), for which he received a Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor. Soubin also made his directorial debut with the 2017 film Parava and produced the record-breaking blockbuster Manjummel Boys (2024), in which he also starred. His recent dance performance in the song "Monica" from the upcoming film Coolie has also gone viral, earning him a new wave of praise. He married Jamia Zaheer in 2017, and they have one son.
