He is particularly known for his role as Henrik in the long-running Swedish drama TV series "Svenska hjärtan," which aired from 1987 to 1998. Ljunggren's diverse filmography also includes prominent roles such as criminal inspector Lennart Thorin in the TV mini-series based on the "Lasermannen" events, and the retired doctor Axel Holtman in "Skärgårdsdoktorn." He has lent his voice to animated characters, including the Swedish dubbing of Carl Fredricksen in Disney's "Up" and Sykes in "Oliver & Company."
