She immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of two and grew up in Webster, Texas. Beatriz pursued her passion for acting at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, graduating in 2002, before moving to New York City to further her career. She has been based in Los Angeles since 2010. Beatriz gained widespread recognition for her role as Detective Rosa Diaz on the hit series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, where she portrayed a tough yet vulnerable character. Her performance earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. In addition to her television work, Beatriz has voiced characters in various animated series, including BoJack Horseman, DuckTales, Central Park, and Wizards: Tales of Arcadia.
