Stephen Blackehart is an American actor, producer, and author, born on December 1, 1967, in New York City. He is best known for his collaborations with filmmaker James Gunn, having appeared in several of Gunn's projects, including Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), where he portrayed Steemie Blueliver, the Knowhere Dispatcher . Blackehart also appeared as Brahl in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and as Briscoe in The Suicide Squad (2021). In addition to his acting career, Blackehart has worked as a producer and writer. He co-produced Jenna Fischer's 2004 mockumentary film LolliLove, which received recognition for its unique storytelling . He also produced the comedy web series PG Porn and Humanzee! for James Gunn . In 2014, Blackehart published a collection of novellas titled A Stranger to the Darklands and Other Tales. Blackehart's early education in the arts began at the University of South Florida under BAFTA-winning character actor Paul Massie. He later attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), where he studied swordsmanship under renowned fight masters Rodney Cottier and John Waller, earning an advanced certification from the Society of British Fight Directors . Standing at 6'2" (1.88 m), Blackehart has appeared in over 50 plays off-Broadway and in London. He was a series regular on the BBC's The Tromaville Cafe sketch comedy show and has read poetry on National Public Radio . Despite rumors suggesting a familial relationship to the late actor Marlon Brando, Blackehart has refuted these claims, stating that he is not related to Brando.
