Subash Sahoo

Subash Chandra Sahoo is a distinguished Indian sound designer and recording engineer from Kendrapara, Odisha. A graduate in Electronics and Communication, he enrolled at FTII, Pune in 1991, and has been active in Hindi cinema since 1994, working on over fifty films. He earned his first National Film Award for audiography on Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara (2006), followed by a second for Kaminey (2009). His decorated career also includes accolades such as Filmfare and Star Screen awards, Gujarat and Maharashtra State awards, alongside multiple Odisha State Film Awards. Sahoo’s expansive resume features collaborations with renowned directors like Shyam Benegal (Sanskrati), Sudhir Mishra (Khoya Khoya Chand), Navdeep Singh (Manorama Six Feet Under), and Dibakar Banerjee (Khosla Ka Ghosla). He contributed his sound expertise to blockbusters such as Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, NH10, Neerja, Tumhari Sulu, Made in China, Aarya, and more. Beyond sound design, he has directed and produced meaningful documentaries under his banner Time & Space Pictures—most notably Green Summer (UNDP‑supported) and the award-winning Sebabou, a tribute to his mother.
