Sunnyi Melles is a Hungarian-Swiss actress born in Luxembourg on October 7, 1958. She comes from a family with a strong artistic background; her father, Carl Melles, was an Austrian orchestral conductor, and her mother, Judith von Rohonczy, was a Hungarian actress. She began her acting career at a very young age, performing at the Stadttheater Basel and appearing in the 1974 film Steppenwolf with Max von Sydow when she was only 12.After training at the Otto-Falckenberg School in Munich, she became a prominent stage actress, regularly performing in major theaters and at the Salzburg Festival. Her career in film and television has been extensive, with roles in productions such as the Academy Award-nominated drama '38 – Vienna Before the Fall, The Baader Meinhof Complex, and the recent Hulu series Becoming Karl Lagerfeld. She is perhaps best known to international audiences for her role as Vera in the critically acclaimed 2022 film Triangle of Sadness, which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. She has been married to Prince Peter of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn since 1993.
