Sushmitha Bhat
Sushmitha Bhat is an Indian actress, model, and professionally trained classical dancer who works predominantly in Kannada cinema and television, with recent notable work in Malayalam and Tamil films. Born in Chennai in 1994, she was raised in Udupi and Bengaluru and holds a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. She began her acting career in 2020 by starring as Anjali in the popular Kannada television series Kavyanjali and made her feature film debut as a supporting dancer in the 2021 Telugu dance-romantic drama, Natyam. Sushmitha gained widespread recognition and critical acclaim for her Malayalam debut as Nanditha in Gautham Vasudev Menon's 2025 mystery comedy-thriller, Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, where her expressive classical dance performance in the song "Margazhi Thingal" became a viral talking point. She further solidified her presence in Malayalam cinema with the 2025 horror thriller Diés Iraé, where she played the pivotal role of Kani, the absent protagonist whose suicide drives the film's plot. Her other notable film appearances include the Kannada films Kaljiga (2024) and Chow Chow Bath (2024) and the Tamil film Love Marriage (2025).
