Tara Sutaria

Born on November 19, 1995, in Mumbai, Tara Sutaria is a distinguished Indian actress, singer, and dancer who has transitioned from a successful career in television to becoming a major lead in the Indian film industry. She began her journey as a video jockey for Disney Channel India in 2010 and gained widespread recognition for her roles in the popular sitcoms The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir and Oye Jassie. A trained professional singer since the age of seven, she has performed in operas and concerts internationally and lent her voice to films like Taare Zameen Par and Guzaarish. After her 2019 Bollywood debut in Student of the Year 2, which earned her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut, she starred in various action-oriented projects such as Marjaavaan, Ek Villain Returns, and the survival thriller Apurva. Outside of her film work, she is an accomplished ballerina and modern dancer, having trained at the Royal Academy of Dance in the United Kingdom. In the 2026 film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, Tara Sutaria plays the character Rebecca, a role described as a significant departure from her previous "glamorous" image. Her character poster, released on January 3, 2026, showcases her in a retro-inspired strapless gown and lace gloves, wielding a gun with a fierce and commanding expression. Rebecca is portrayed as a woman who holds power as if it were her "birthright," possessing a sharp instinct for self-preservation within the film’s gritty, 1980s-inspired underworld. Director Geetu Mohandas has praised her performance as "breathtaking," noting that Sutaria’s portrayal brings an inner understanding and a "beautifully unraveled" authority to the dark, immersive world shared with lead actor Yash.
