José Tenoch Huerta Mejía, known professionally as Tenoch Huerta, is a celebrated Mexican actor born on January 29, 1981, in Ecatepec de Morelos, Estado de México. Of Nahua and Purépecha Indigenous descent, Huerta has built a remarkable career in both Latin American and international cinema and television, appearing in over 70 films and TV series. Before gaining global recognition, he was a prominent figure in Mexican cinema, starring in critically acclaimed films such as "Sin Nombre" (2009), "Days of Grace" (2011), and "Güeros" (2014). He also had a significant role as Rafael Caro Quintero in the Netflix series "Narcos: Mexico" (2018-2020).Huerta's international profile soared with his portrayal of Namor, the feathered-serpent god and leader of the underwater kingdom of Talokan, in Marvel Studios' "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" (2022). His powerful performance as the anti-hero, who learns to swim specifically for the role, garnered widespread praise and earned him a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.
