Thiago Pethit

Thiago Pethit (born Thiago Fidanza Correa da Silva on September 17, 1982, in São Paulo) is a versatile Brazilian singer‑songwriter, actor, and performance artist known for his dynamic fusion of indie pop, rock, MPB, and cabaret influences. Growing up in a family of artists and trained in theater and literature, he began his career on stage before pivoting to music around 2008 with his EP Em Outro Lugar, followed by his acclaimed debut album Berlim, Texas (2010), which won a MTV VMB “Aposta” award; its video for “Nightwalker” featured actress Alice Braga. Over the years, he’s released a string of conceptually bold albums—Estrela Decadente (2012), Rock’n’Roll Sugar Darling (2014), and the myth-inspired Mal dos Trópicos (Queda e Ascensão de Orfeu da Consolação) (2019)—blending theatrical flair, lyrical depth, and musical experimentation . His tracks have found their way into mainstream Brazilian TV, with “Forasteiro” featured in Velho Chico, and a haunting cover of Cazuza’s “Maior Abandonado” used in Além da Ilusão . Celebrated for his chameleon-like stage personas and striking visuals, Pethit continues to innovate across music, film (Amores Urbanos), and live performance, cementing his place as a captivating voice in Brazil’s contemporary arts scene.
