Thomas Haden Church is an American actor, director, and writer. He was born Thomas Richard McMillen on June 17, 1960, in Woodland, California. He is known for his versatile career, which has spanned over three decades and includes a mix of comedic, dramatic, and voice-over roles.Church first gained widespread recognition for his role as Lowell Mather, the dim-witted but lovable mechanic, in the popular 1990s sitcom Wings. After the show concluded, he transitioned to film, where he received critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as the selfish and jaded actor Jack Cole in the 2004 film Sideways. He also won a Primetime Emmy Award for his performance in the miniseries Broken Trail.He is widely recognized for his portrayal of the Marvel Comics villain Sandman in the films Spider-Man 3 (2007) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Other notable film credits include George of the Jungle (1997), Over the Hedge (2006), Easy A (2010), and The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019).
