Tiku Talsania

Born on June 7, 1954, in Mumbai, Tiku Talsania is a legendary Indian actor whose career spans over four decades across theatre, television, and film. Hailing from a family of doctors, Talsania initially intended to pursue medicine himself but pivoted to the arts, making his professional mark in Gujarati theatre and eventually transitioning to television with the iconic 1984 sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi. His film debut came in 1986 with Pyaar Ke Do Pal, launching a prolific run as one of Bollywood’s most beloved character actors. Known for his impeccable comic timing and expressive face, he became a household name in the 1990s through memorable roles in hits like Andaz Apna Apna (1994), where he played the harried Inspector Pandey, and Ishq (1997), where he portrayed the quirky bank manager Gaitonde. While primarily celebrated for comedy, he earned critical acclaim for his dramatic depth as the loyal caretaker Dharamdas in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas (2002). In recent years, Talsania has successfully balanced major Hindi releases with significant work in regional cinema. Throughout 2025, he remained highly active, starring in the Gujarati family drama Fari Ek Vaar alongside Supriya Pathak and the Hindi comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi. In the late 2025 romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, he played the pivotal role of Shashtriji, a traditional family figure whose interactions with the modern protagonists provided much of the film's social commentary. Beyond his acting career, Talsania is an avid biking and adventure sport enthusiast, a passion he often shares with his fans. He is married to Dipti Talsania, a classical dancer and theatre artist, and is the father of actress Shikha Talsania and music composer Rohan Talsania. As of early 2026, he continues to be a staple of the industry, with a legacy that includes over 200 film and television appearances.
