Timothy Spall

Timothy Spall OBE is a highly regarded British character actor, born on February 27, 1957, in London, known for his versatile and nuanced portrayals across theatre, film, and television. After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), he established his early career on the stage, including with the Royal Shakespeare Company, before achieving popular recognition as Barry Spencer Taylor in the beloved 1980s comedy-drama series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Spall is a frequent collaborator with acclaimed director Mike Leigh, appearing in six of his films and receiving critical acclaim, including BAFTA nominations for Secrets & Lies (1996) and Topsy-Turvy (1999). His crowning achievement came in 2014 when he won the Cannes Film Festival Best Actor Award and the European Film Award for his captivating performance as the titular painter in Mike Leigh's biopic, Mr. Turner. He is also internationally famous for his role as the treacherous wizard Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail) in the Harry Potter film series, as well as for his appearances in films like Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Enchanted, and playing Winston Churchill in The King's Speech.
