Tiya Sircar is an American actress and voice artist known for her versatile roles in both live-action and animated projects. Born on May 16, 1982, in Arlington, Texas, she hails from a family of Bengali college professors originally from Kolkata, India. Her parents instilled a love of the arts in her from a young age; she began dancing at age three, studying Indian classical and folk dance, as well as ballet, jazz, and modern dance. At age seven, she took her first acting class and realized her true calling. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning dual bachelor's degrees in Business/Marketing and Theater & Dance. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Sircar's early television appearances include roles in House, Hannah Montana, Greek, Moonlight, Numb3rs, Privileged, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. She also had recurring roles on The Suite Life on Deck and The Vampire Diaries. In 2009, she appeared in the film 17 Again, starring Zac Efron. She gained further recognition with her role as 'Neha Patel' in the 2013 comedy The Internship, starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. In 2015, she starred in the indie comedy Miss India America, marking her first lead role in a feature film. In addition to her on-camera work, Sircar has made significant contributions to voice acting. She voiced the character Sabine Wren in the animated series Star Wars Rebels and its spin-off Star Wars Forces of Destiny. She also voiced Juniper in the 3D animated film Walking with Dinosaurs. Her voice work in Star Wars Rebels earned her a nomination for Best Female Lead Vocal Performance in a Television Series – Action/Drama at the Behind The Voice Actors Awards. Beyond her acting career, Sircar is passionate about animal rights and environmental issues. She is also an avid traveler and has visited every continent except Antarctica. She resides in Los Angeles with her Maltipoo, Vegas.
