Segal gained early recognition in theatre, becoming one of the youngest actors to win a Barrymore Award in 2002 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a play for his performance in Equus. His stage credits also include appearing in The Bridge Project, directed by Sam Mendes, and a brief Broadway run in The Miracle Worker.
