Tom Bateman
Tom Bateman is a British actor known for his work across television and film. Born on March 15, 1989, in Oxford, England, he trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). His career breakthrough came with the Starz historical fantasy drama series Da Vinci's Demons (2013-2015), where he played the role of Giuliano de' Medici. He is perhaps most widely recognized for his portrayal of Bouc in Kenneth Branagh's film adaptations of Agatha Christie's novels, Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and Death on the Nile (2022). On television, he has starred in a range of projects, including the title role in the miniseries Jekyll and Hyde (2015), Rawdon Crawley in the ITV adaptation of Vanity Fair (2018), and David Ferguson in the popular Netflix miniseries Behind Her Eyes (2021). More recently, he took on a main role as Matt Pierce in the Peacock comedy-thriller series Based on a True Story (2023–2024). Bateman's stage work includes performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company, where he acted alongside Judi Dench in The Winter's Tale. He is married to actress Daisy Ridley, his co-star from Murder on the Orient Express.
