Tomas Arana is an American actor born on April 3, 1955, in Auburn, California. He grew up in San Francisco and studied classical theatre at the American Conservatory Theater and City College of San Francisco. After relocating to New York, he performed in off-Broadway productions before hitchhiking through Europe and settling in Naples, Italy. In Naples, Arana worked at the Lucio Amelio Art Gallery, collaborating with renowned artists such as Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, and Joseph Beuys. Warhol even painted his portrait, which Arana considers one of his prized possessions. Arana holds dual U.S. and Italian citizenship and has been married to Price Arana (née Deratzian). They have three sons: Yanez Jason, Joaquin Falco, and Dashiell Richard Arana. In the 1980s, he began his acting career in Italy, appearing in films by directors such as Lina Wertmüller, Liliana Cavani, and Michele Soavi. His notable roles include playing Igor Loginov in The Hunt for Red October (1990), the assassin in The Bodyguard (1992), Quintus in Gladiator (2000), and Bruce Wayne's lawyer in The Dark Knight Rises (2012). He also portrayed a Kree ambassador in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). In television, Arana was a regular on the CBS series Intelligence (2014) and appeared in over 30 network TV shows. He also had significant roles in European television series such as Tutti pazzi per amore (2008) and Verbrechen (2013). Beyond acting, Arana was the producer and lead actor in the acclaimed theater company Falso Movimento in Naples. Under his leadership and artistic director Mario Martone, the company won numerous awards, including Best Play of the Year and the prestigious Mondello Prize. The company toured internationally for over nine years, performing at major festivals in cities like London, New York, and Los Angeles.
