Travis Fimmel is an Australian actor and former model, born on July 15, 1979, near Echuca, Victoria, Australia. He was raised on a 5500-acre cattle farm in Lockington, the youngest of three brothers. Before his career in entertainment, Fimmel aspired to be a professional Australian rules footballer and moved to Melbourne to play for the St Kilda Football Club, but a broken leg ended his sporting dreams. He also briefly studied architecture at RMIT University before deferring to travel abroad.Fimmel's journey into the spotlight began when he was discovered by a talent scout while working out at a gym in Melbourne. He then moved to the United States, where he signed with LA Models in 2002, famously walking into their office broke and barefoot. He quickly rose to prominence as a male model, becoming the first male to secure a six-figure deal with Calvin Klein, and appeared on numerous magazine covers.
