Ty Olsson is a Canadian actor, born on January 28, 1974, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He later grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, where he attended Canterbury High School, specializing in drama, dance, and music. He continued his acting education at Studio 58 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Olsson is a versatile performer, known for his work in both live-action and voice acting roles across film and television.He has an extensive list of credits, often appearing in supporting or character roles. Some of his notable film appearances include "X2: X-Men United" (2003), "The Chronicles of Riddick" (2004), "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" (2011), "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1" (2011), "Godzilla" (2014), and "War for the Planet of the Apes" (2017). Most recently, he was seen in Eli Roth's slasher film "Thanksgiving" (2023) as Mitch Collins.On television, Olsson has made a significant impact with roles such as Benny Lafitte, a fan-favorite vampire, in the long-running series "Supernatural." He also played Mark Bingham in the A&E television film "Flight 93" (2006), and has appeared in "Battlestar Galactica," "The 100" (as Nyko), "The Man in the High Castle," "Wynonna Earp," and "Big Sky."
