She began her professional acting journey at the age of 17 in the television show The Cops and later trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Robinson is widely recognized for her award-winning portrayal of Carly in the film "Boiling Point" (2021) and its subsequent television spin-off, a performance that earned her a British Independent Film Award (BIFA) for Best Supporting Actress. Her television credits are extensive, including her role as Sergeant Sally Donovan in the BBC series "Sherlock", civil rights icon Rosa Parks in Doctor Who, and lead roles in The A Word, The Lazarus Project, and the 2024 thriller The Gathering. Her 2025 schedule also includes a significant return to the stage, making her West End debut as Emilia in a new production of "Othello" at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, starring alongside David Harewood and Toby Jones. Throughout her career, Robinson has been a mainstay of prestigious theatrical institutions like the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, receiving critical praise for her "warmth and emotional openness" and winning the Clarence Derwent Award for her performance as Ophelia in Hamlet.
