Vishnu Manchu, born on November 23, 1981, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a prominent Indian actor, producer, and philanthropist known for his work in Telugu cinema. He is the son of veteran actor Mohan Babu and is part of the renowned Manchu family, which has made significant contributions to the Telugu film industry. Vishnu made his acting debut as a child artist in the 1985 film Ragile Gundelu. His first lead role came in the 2003 action film Vishnu, which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He achieved further success with the 2007 comedy Dhee, which became a commercial hit and solidified his position in the industry. Over the years, he has appeared in various films, including Anukshanam (2014), Dynamite (2015), and Achari America Yatra (2018). In 2025, he starred in the mythological epic Kannappa, portraying the titular character, a devotee of Lord Shiva. The film features an ensemble cast, including Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal, and was released on June 27, 2025. Beyond acting, Vishnu is actively involved in various business and educational ventures. He co-owns the film production house 24 Frames Factory and is the founder and chairman of New York Academy, a school in Hyderabad. Additionally, he serves as the chairman of Spring Board Academy and Spring Board International Preschools, which have over 75 branches across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. He is also the pro-chancellor of Mohan Babu University in Tirupati, established in 2022.
