Xu Jiao (徐娇), also known by the name Josie Xu, is a highly acclaimed Chinese actress born on August 5, 1997, in Ningbo, Zhejiang, China. She shot to fame at the age of 10 for her film debut in Stephen Chow's 2008 sci-fi comedy CJ7, where she famously cross-dressed to play the role of the male lead, Dicky Chow. Her performance earned her the prestigious Hong Kong Film Award for Best New Performer. She continued her acting career while also pursuing education, notably attending the Art Center College of Design. Her filmography includes a variety of roles across films and television, such as the critically praised Starry Starry Night (2011), the South Korean-Chinese co-production Mr. Go (2013), a young Hua Mulan in the 2009 film Mulan, and more recent projects like the TV drama Love like the Galaxy (2022) and the film A Place Called Silence (2024).
