Yeo Yann Yann
Yeo Yann Yann, born on February 20, 1977, in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, is a Malaysian actress based in Singapore. A pioneer graduate of the Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI), she has built an extensive career across theatre, television, and film. Yeo is multilingual, fluent in English, Mandarin, Hokkien, and Malay, allowing her to work on diverse projects both locally and internationally. She gained early recognition in theatre, winning the LIFE! Theatre Award for Best Actress in 2007 for her role in "Thunderstorm." Her film career includes notable roles in "Singapore Dreaming" (2006), "881" (2007), and the critically acclaimed "Ilo Ilo" (2013), for which she won the Golden Horse Award and Asian Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 2019, she received further acclaim and numerous awards, including the Golden Horse Award for Best Leading Actress, for her performance in "Wet Season." More recently, she has appeared in the Disney+ series "American Born Chinese" (2023) and plays a triad boss in the 2025 film "Havoc." Yeo Yann Yann is married to Hong Kong action choreographer Ma Yuk-sing, and they have one daughter.
