Youssef Kerkour
Youssef Kerkour is a Moroccan-British actor, born in Rabat on June 9, 1978, to a Moroccan mathematics professor father and an English schoolteacher mother. He initially moved to the United States to study psychology at Bard College but dedicated most of his time to acting and dancing, which he pursued professionally upon a professor's encouragement. After moving to England, he trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and spent five years with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is best known for his role as Sami Ibrahim, a Syrian asylum seeker, in the acclaimed comedy-drama series "Home", a performance that earned him a nomination for Best Male Comedy Performance at the 2020 British Academy Television Awards. His film credits include Ridley Scott's "House of Gucci" (as Nemir Kirdar) and "Napoleon" (as Marshal Davout), and he has appeared in numerous other TV series such as "Significant Other," "Stay Close," "Dracula," "Criminal: UK," and "Sex Education."
