Yuki Saito

Yuki Saito was born on September 10, 1966, in Minami-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Her entertainment career began in 1984 when she won the Grand Prix at the third annual "Miss Magazine" contest. She made her debut as a singer in 1985 with the single "Sotsugyō" (Graduation) and released her debut album, Axia, that same year. Her breakthrough hit was the 1986 single "Kanashimi yo Konnichiwa" (Hello, Sadness), which served as the opening theme for the anime Maison Ikkoku. Simultaneously, Saito launched her acting career in 1985 by taking the lead role of Saki Asamiya in the television drama series Sukeban Deka. She later revisited this story by playing Saki's mother in the 2006 film Yo-Yo Girl Cop. Over her career, she has released 21 singles and 13 original albums. Saito is affiliated with Toho Entertainment and has established a diverse acting career in film and television, with notable roles in films like The Third Murder (2017), for which she won the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Supporting Actress, and television dramas such as Segodon (2018) and My Beloved Flower (2023). She married Nobuyasu Isarai in 1994, with whom she has three children, including daughter Rin Mizushima, and they divorced in December 2024.
