Yuriy Kuznetsov is a renowned Soviet and Russian actor, born on September 3, 1946, in Abakan, Russia. He graduated from the Far Eastern Pedagogical Institute in Vladivostok in 1969. Kuznetsov has had a long and prolific career in both theater and film, with over 160 acting credits. . He is well known for his diverse roles, from playing a police major in the television series Streets of Broken Lights (1997-2003) to his memorable performance as the enigmatic monk Tikhon in the critically acclaimed film The Island (2006). He has also appeared in films such as Brother (1997), Peculiarities of the National Hunt in the Winter (2001), and the recent fantasy film The Enchanted Tinderbox (2024).
