Yutaka Matsushige
Yutaka Matsushige is a highly recognizable and celebrated Japanese actor, born on January 19, 1963, in Fukuoka Prefecture. After studying Theater Studies at Meiji University, he began his career at Gekisha Ninagawa Studio and made his film debut in 1992. He is perhaps best known for his career-defining lead role as the solitary businessman Gorō Inogashira in the long-running television series Solitary Gourmet (Kodoku no Gurume), which premiered in 2012 and has run for ten seasons. Known for his versatility, Matsushige has appeared in numerous acclaimed films and dramas, including winning the Best Supporting Actor award at the 31st Yokohama Film Festival for Dear Doctor (2009), and taking on roles in major productions like the Outrage series, the live-action Death Note (as Sōichirō Yagami), and recent Taiga drama What Will You Do, Ieyasu?. His voice acting credits include Hokusai in Miss Hokusai and he is part of the cast for the upcoming animated film Scarlet (2025), voicing Cornelius.
