Zain Khan Durrani is an Indian actor and poet, acclaimed for his compelling performances in both films and digital series. Born in the Bagh-e-Mehtab suburb of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, he hails from a Kashmiri family. He completed his schooling at Burn Hall School and Delhi Public School, later graduating from Zakir Husain College, Delhi University. During his school years, Zain was actively involved in stage acting and developed a passion for poetry . Zain's acting career began in 2017 when he worked as a clapperboard assistant on the film Shab. His breakthrough came in 2018 with the film Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz, where he portrayed the character of Alfaaz, a radio jockey. His performance earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. Following this, he hosted the radio show Lamhey with Zain on Big 92.7 FM . In 2020, Zain appeared in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film Shikara, portraying the character of Lateef. He further expanded his filmography with a role in the 2021 film Bell Bottom, where he played Daljeet Singh Dodi, a hijacker . Zain's most notable work came in 2022 with the ZEE5 series Mukhbir – The Story of a Spy, where he played the lead role of Harfan Bukhari. The series, based on the novel Mission to Pakistan: An Intelligence Agent in Pakistan by Maloy Krishna Dhar, was well-received by both critics and audiences . In 2025, Zain joined the cast of the film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, directed by Santosh Singh. The film, based on Ruskin Bond's short story "The Eyes Have It," features Zain alongside Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey in a love triangle . Beyond acting, Zain is a poet who writes in both Urdu and English. He often shares his poetry on his Instagram page, reflecting his deep connection to literature and the arts .
