Pro: this movie had a good story line potential.Cons: producer, casting and other film crew destroyed any sense of believability in this movie.Aside from Eva Green, poor choice of supporting B movie caliber (lame) actors.A Marine Colonel with comb back hair?A teenage american female explosives expert?Every commando team member fits a stereotype and screams out they are american thru dress, swagger, behavior, and neck, hand and full sleeve tats; for an undercover mission in hostile ISIS territory?The enemy at border control post all dressed in brand new crisp pressed hats and clean uniforms, despite being in remote desert mountain conditions not showing a shred of sweat stains or dust.Commando team rifles all clean shiny black and unscuffed. No cartridges fly when fired! Muzzle flashes and explosions all obvious CGI.I could go on but point made.

Typical (i.e. disappointing) Hollywood tropes depicting the military.
If you’ve watched and are a fan of other military/spec ops movies and TV like Hurt Locker and Seal Team, you will be annoyed by the Hollywood-ization this movie employs. It’s entertaining for what it is, but don’t expect to come away wowed or chanting U-S-A.The Evil Wizard (per the trope) is overly comical, and there’s not a lot of character development other than the team giving themselves catch-phrase nicknames.Entertaining for a watch, but hardly memorable or meaningful.

Not a great movie, good acting
Never thought I’d rate a Eva Green movie any less than five stars. Lousy story poorly told. Eva Green’s performance is the usual stellar complex character building that she always brings. She could play a mop and you’d relate to it. Storytellers have yet to get the most out of her talent since Ridley Scott and the directors and script writers for Penny Dreadful or even Camelot.
